Today was the last day of school.. June holidays!! :D 

And since it was the last day of the term, we had Character Parade at FEK (Far Eastern Kindergarten) today. It was really a competition between parents.. Who’s the best at designing costumes for their kids? But it was so fun hahaha..

Most of the better ones were the boxes hmm.. So the parents would cut out 4 holes (top and bottom, and 2 holes for the arms) from the box such that the kid can wear it. The triplets (and their younger brother) were really out to win! They came as the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America! Shields, weapons, head cover and all.. Super love them ahhh sorry principal for my biased photographing but they so cuteee (: Then Nicholas came as Spongebob HAHA and it reallyyy fitted him so well aiyo.. Then Noelle came as Noah haha so she was wearing a boat and drew some boxes (as windows) on the sides of the cardboard, over which she pasted animal stickers..

Anyway this whole box thing is so funny, because some of the smaller kids couldn’t sit down, and when they did, their heads just went completely into the box HAHAHA and all we see is some box with a face sitting on the floor…

then there were other funnier kids too.. like Mr Bump! We have to check the kids for HFMD in the morning when they come everyday, so after I check their temperature, they’ll go over to sit on the row of chairs to take off their shoes to check their feet.. Our dear Mr Bump happily went to sit between two chairs and then Bump! he fell to the floor and started crying -.- aww Mr Bump..

And not forgetting a whole lot of princesses.. I think there were two Belles, then Snow White, Cinderella… Then also 2 Tinker Bells (one of whom was a confused girl whose mother dressed her up in purple instead of green).. And the funniest part is that because the judging includes a ‘use recycled materials’ criteria, there was this princess who tied 2 red plastic bags to the end of her dress.. that just looks weird la hahaha. 

anddd the teachers also dressed up! I didn’t have to because I’m the photographer ((: Just thought it was reallyyy cute that Ms Faye and Huanglaoshi coordinated their costumes and came as Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (wearing Grandma’s reading glasses)!

So okay this wasn’t really the main point of my post.. I originally started on this post on 30th April lol.. To write a bit about my last day in HC as an employee, and the many things that have been so close to my heart in those 3 months. But somehow I never got down to it. 

Ahh last days.. I guess everyone dreads separation, but sometimes I think I get too attached to everything.. I remember on my first day of work, when I sat down beside Nirmala, I was pretty sure I wouldn’t feel anything towards the temporary friendships made in the staff room. After all, all these teachers are older and moreover our job scope is different..

But that was before I met this awesome team of TAs! I remember how I spent much effort avoiding them in the first 2 weeks, and also being very proud of myself for having made friends with the nicest teachers in the entire English department. Oh and plus Janise Phang, prettiest teacher hahaha. Then of course we all gradually revealed our slightly crazier self.. All our emails (that was before we created the FB group), esp the fire drill one on 22nd Feb so funnyyyyy hahahaha and the signatures thing!! I had no idea why everyone was using such serious signatures in their emails when we were just talking crap.. then sign off with like Teaching Assistant, Chemistry Department. so serious?!?! yes yes, Sandy Mandy Candy Dandy Handy, Department of Good and Accurate English. Quote Jon Neo ‘this is so much win’ HAHA thankssss..

And then on 5th March when Jieyang came in (and Shihuan and I were so hesitant to say hi to him at first haha), I think that’s when we all started becoming reallyyy retarded and becoming a whole lot of fun people :DD But then we also had to say our first goodbyes on the 9th: Shao Ting and Soham DD: It was also when we started our awesome tradition of PIZZA. And followed by March hols.. And yes that was when I started drawing on our whiteboard and everyone started to contribute too (though some people only contributed a quadrant HAHAHA yes the sun was beautiful, well done..) and then our cute drawings started becoming more and more professional..?!?! But yes super love TA corner, happy corner, crazy corner, do-me-soh corner, do-do-do-re-mi corner, and whatever-it’s-called-now corner ((: And aww another goodbye on the 30th.. to Shihuan! More pizza :D

And then in the midst of council elections and having fun slacking 9-10am, 12-1pm, (and sometimes tea break lol).. This time not a goodbye, but hello to Bryan Choo on 3rd April. Also Ben&Jerry’s Free Cone Day, which we conveniently missed. And along with BChoo also came lots of Digestive biscuits, mustard biscuits, crumbs, and ANTS. Oh! I forgot to mention the day we discovered that the table could be lengthened!! That was before Shihuan left, and he and Jieyang discovered that it could be pushed apart and there are extra boards below ((: haha yes and we found a whole army of ants walking around somewhere where Shihuan places his laptop.. eeeee DD: I happily Baygon-ed them all away and swept away all their carcasses.. But then I think they took their revenge on me by building a nest INSIDE my laptop.. that was about 2 weeks before the end of April when I discovered that they kept walking around my laptop screen D: so anyway yes conclusion is that got a lot of ants la dunno why.

And of course having fun with the little red ball which we conveniently named Jieyang (: hahaha and watching annoying orange.. hey apple! hey apple! and talking nonsense everyday during morning assembly (and yongquan always sweating haha) and err how about LC starting a most retarded tumblr for jj -beingngjunjie.tumblr.com (way to advertise the site HAHA sorry) and also I love our random conversations during breakfast/lunch which are always very amusing and lots of fun facts and honestly, I listen! And yes, yam pau <3 and I miss Jap food/ mua cheeeee! And also during the last week of April (when Jieyang banished me to the Ed Tech room, i.e. 2nd TA corner, i.e. Daycare Centre), I had so much fun doing nonsense at the Daycare Centre and listening to Alfie’s epic love stories hahaha! (background info: Alfie is a perm staff who sits with us, or rather, we took up his space) And then.. Everytime those guys aren’t around and Alfie isn’t busy watching HIMYM, he’ll always turn around and go ‘Actually Sandy, you must treasure this group of friends you have here.. I think, and I know, that all of you are very nice people, people who have not been influenced by pressures of society.. And these are people that you will want as your friends.’ awww Alfie ((: yes of course I love this whole group of us!
